Become a Disability Rights Respecting School – a Celebration and Learning Event

Include Me TOO are hosting with The Jane Lane School (special school supporting 7-19 years old with autism and moderate learning disabilities) a open day to invite you to attend their school meet the young Ambassadors, share the schools achievements and the whole school community journey.

Include Me TOO are celebrating The Jane Lane School being given  a Disability Rights Respecting School Award.

The IM2 Disability Rights Respecting School Award was developed to support disabled young people and their peers to be advocates for the National Include Me TOO (IM2) Charter of Rights increasing the awareness and understanding of disabled children’s rights, encouraging respect and friendship. The Jane Lane School are the first school to pilot the award and develop young disabled Ambassadors and parent/carer Champions.

Whilst the young Ambassadors have been delivering their message locally, regionally and nationally; the school has been working hard with IM2 and have been awarded the IM2 award becoming the first Disability Rights Respecting School (DRRS).

The school students who have been supported to become Ambassadors, the parents and carers who have received training and the school head teacher and staff will be sharing how they have benefited from taking part in the award process and how your school community and settings can benefit..

Light refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided.

We do hope you are able to join us and you will gain information about the three stages of obtaining the IM2 Disability Rights Respecting Setting/School  (DRRS) Award. Furthermore Include Me TOO have been piloting the award programme with a Primary School and you can find out more about how you can gain the Gold Award and support a Disability Rights Respecting Culture..
