Timeout

Our TIMEOUT project provides disabled children, young people and their siblings with wider access to fun, holistic and therapeutic recreational activities.

TIMEOUT supports access to fun activities for disabled children and siblings, providing opportunities to new friendships and reducing isolation often experienced by disabled children and families.

The children and young people who the project supports have a diverse range of needs and impairments which include physical disabilities, learning difficulties mild to severe, Autism Spectrum Disorder and challenging behaviour.

Our activities range from family days out to sessions with disabled children, young people and siblings taking part in:

Canoeing, Zip wiring, Surfing, Toboganning, Bollywood Dance sessions, Music sessions, Arts and Crafts, Yoga sessions,  Theme Fun days, Cinema and threatre outings and so much more …

TIMEOUT sessions provide:

  • A safe and secure environment, where disabled children and young people and their siblings, can participate and engage in inclusive creative play activities together under the same play scheme setting.
  • Opportunities for disabled children and young people from different backgrounds and mixed abilities to play together, develop and build new friendships with peers outside of their immediate social and family circles.
  • Short breaks for parents and carers and opportunities with support for family fun days out.
