Global Disability Children and Young People’s Charter (GDCYPC)
#2030 Call to Action
During the Global Disability Summit 2025 Children & Young People with Disabilities reaffirmed a Call To Action for the Global Disability Children and Young People’s Charter (GDCYPC) #2030.
The GDCYPC has been developed by children and youth with disabilities worldwide in collaboration with the Commonwealth Children & Youth Disability Network (CCYDN), Minority Rights Group International, the Global Network of Young People with Disabilities, Include Me TOO, and the Commonwealth Secretariat. It builds on the advocacy momentum of past Global Disability Summits in 2018 and 2022, where children and youth with disabilities have continued to champion their human rights and inclusion.
Endorsements and action to support the 16 commitments within the charter would send a powerful message: that the voices of children and youth with disabilities and their Call TO Action has been heard and taken seriously.
Aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a major move forward towards achieving disability inclusion and rights, with only five years remaining to meet their targets by 2030. Children and youth with disabilities face significant global challenges and are often left further behind due to systemic barriers and discrimination that impact their opportunities and futures.
The GDCYPC outlines 16 commitments and the call for action from children and youth with disabilities urging action to meet the SDG targets in key areas, including poverty reduction, health, education, safeguarding, employment, social protection, gender equality, climate action, and reducing inequalities:
Your Support Matters
With the urgency to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 we re-affirm the Call To Action for GDCYPC #2030 which supports the shared vision of children and youth with disabilities enjoyment of their civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights; eliminating barriers to their meaningful participation, ensuring they have more inclusive future.
Your support would affirm to children and youth with disabilities that their voices matter and their advocacy efforts are being recognised and acted upon.
We Call for Action to affirm commitments to the Global Disability Children’s and Young People Charter (GDCYPC) #2030 aligning with United Nations Convention on the Rights of Person with Disabilities (CRPD), United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)and the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We ask governments and all stakeholders to support and action the commitments in our Charter and build upon the continuing momentum of our advocacy efforts during and since GDS 2018 for our human rights, inclusion, and our futures.
