The Commonwealth Children and Youth Disability Network (CCYDN) is announcing 16 key voluntary positions on its Executive Committee for a two year period from June 2026 to June  2028

The Commonwealth Children and Youth Disability Network (CCYDN) is youth with disabilities led network uniting the voices and strengthening the inclusion and meaningful participation, advocacy and leadership of children and youth with disabilities across the Commonwealth for their human rights and inclusive futures.

Who are we?

CCYDN is the first ever Commonwealth disability children and youth network driven by youth with disabilities and supported by Include Me TOO in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat and is the official disability thematic youth network under the auspicious of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Since being established in 2019 CCYDN provides a platform for youth with disabilities to connect, share learning, develop leadership and advocacy skills and knowledge to influence on disability rights, inclusion UNCRC and UNCRPD implementation at national, regional and global levels.

We are welcoming applications from disabled youth to apply for the following:

Cohort 1:

10 CCYDN Executive Committee positions youth with disabilities from the Commonwealth  aged 18 to 28 year

  • Policy and Research Lead
  • Advocacy and Campaigning Lead
  • Communications and Information Lead
  • Engagement and Capacity Building Lead
  • Fundraising and Development Lead
  • Africa Regional Representative
  • Asia Regional Representative
  • Caribbean Regional Representative

Cohort 2:

3 CCYDN Associate Executive Committee positions youth with disabilities from the Commonwealth aged 29 to 33 years

3 CCYDN International Associate Executive Committee positions youth with disabilities not from the Commonwealth aged 18 to 33 years


All the above roles are commencing from June 2026 for a two-year period. Below are further details regarding CCYDN, our achievements to date, work themes, the Executive Committee roles and responsibilities, eligibility criteria and how to apply for this opportunity.

Who are we?

CCYDN membership include those who are part of Youth Disabled Persons Organisation (YDPO), Disabled Persons Organisation (DPO), Organisation of Persons with Disabilities (OPD), Non Governmental Organisation (NGO -whom support and empower children and young people with disabilities and individual members.

CCYDN members are young leaders, innovators, advocates and changemakers, who continue to strive to ensure that the voice of children and youth with disabilities are heard across the globe on the issues that matter to them and impact their futures.

CCYDN Executive Committee Members are youth with disabilities representing YDPO’s, DPO’s, OPD’s and NGO’s. We have representation from all five regions of the Commonwealth and within this recruitment we are keen to have further representation in these regions and building on combined skills, knowledge, advocacy and leadership to support CCYDN aims, work and impact.

CCYDN membership is from 13 years to 35 years. We have associate youth with disabilities  members aged 30 – 35.

CCYDN members are leading youth led development and initiatives within their respective countries.

Eligibility:

Cohort 1:

Eligibility Criteria – 10 CCYDN Executive Committee youth with disabilities positions from the Commonwealth

  1. Aged between 18 to 28 years at the time of application
  2. Citizen of a Commonwealth member country
  3. Be a young person with disabilities / youth
  4. Experience and knowledge of disability rights and inclusion, advocacy, campaigning,
  5. Good communication skills in English, and online access and computer skills
  6. Be able to demonstrate working well both on own initiative and with teams
  7. Be available to commit 8 – 10 voluntary hours per week for CCYDN activities
  8. Have good time management and organisational skills
  9. Have leadership experience to build sub committees and project teams
  10. A strong commitment to CCYDN vision and mission to advance disability rights, inclusion, participation, representation of and with children and young people with disabilities in the Commonwealth as leaders and right holders within the global disability movement and youth movement.

Cohort 2:

Eligibility Criteria – 3  CCYDN Executive Committee Associate youth with disabilities  positions from the Commonwealth 

  1. Aged between 29 to 33 years at the time of application
  2. Citizen of a Commonwealth member country
  3. Be a young person with disabilities / youth
  4. Have experience of youth led initiatives, projects, organisations focused on disability rights and inclusion, advocacy, democracy and youth development
  5. Have leadership experience to build sub committees and project teams
  6. Good communication skills in English, and online access and computer skills
  7. Be able to demonstrate working well both on own initiative and with teams
  8. Be available to commit 8 – 10 voluntary hours per week for CCYDN activities
  9. Have good time management and organisational skills
  10. A strong commitment to CCYDN vision and mission to advance disability rights, inclusion, participation, representation of and with children and young people with disabilities in the Commonwealth as leaders and right holders within the global disability movement and youth movement.

Cohort 3:

Eligibility Criteria3  CCYDN Executive Committee International Associate youth with disabilities positions not from the Commonwealth 

  1. Aged between 18 to 33 years at the time of application
  2. Citizen of a country which is not part of the Commonwealth
  3. Be a young person with disabilities / youth
  4. Have experience of international youth led initiatives, projects, organisations focused on disability rights and inclusion, advocacy, democracy and youth development
  5. Have leadership experience to build sub committees and project teams
  6. Have leadership experience at international and regional level
  7. Good communication skills in English, and online access and computer skills
  8. Be able to demonstrate working well both on own initiative and with teams
  9. Be available to commit 8 – 10 voluntary hours per week for CCYDN activities
  10. Have good time management and organisational skills
  11. A strong commitment to CCYDN vision and mission to advance disability rights, inclusion, participation, representation of and with children and young people with disabilities in the Commonwealth as leaders and right holders within the global disability movement and youth movement.
